IIT Palakkad currently operates from two distinct campuses: the temporary campus and the Nila campus, which are approximately 13 miles apart. The temporary campus is situated within the Ahalia Integrated campus near Kozhippara, Palakkad, at a distance of around 20 kilometers from the city. The academic building on the temporary campus covers an area of 55,000 square feet. On the other hand, out of the total 504 acres allocated for the permanent campus in Kanjikode, the Nila Campus occupies 30 acres.

The permanent campus is located approximately 14 kilometers away from the Palakkad Railway Station and about 60 kilometers from the Coimbatore International Airport. Nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats, it spans a picturesque 504-acre expanse. The temporary campus encompasses a 55,000 square feet academic building, which is equipped with various facilities, including a seminar room, auditorium, conference room, workshop, library, canteen, laboratories, and faculty offices, in addition to well-furnished classrooms. It also offers high-speed internet access in the hostels and recreational amenities for sports and relaxation.

Within the 504-acre plot designated for the permanent campus in Kanjikode, the Nila campus covers 30 acres and boasts a robust infrastructure. This includes an auditorium, both small and large classrooms equipped with multimedia capabilities, student laboratories, a library, a canteen, and dormitories with complete Wi-Fi coverage and mobile internet access. The academic building and laboratory complex in the Nila Campus are named Samgatha and Manogatha, respectively. Three newly constructed dormitories, namely Bageshri, Brindavani, and Tilang, accommodate students on the Nila Campus. The development of Phase I of the permanent campus is an ongoing project.
