Scholarships for Quality Education for Students with Disabilities (SwDs)

The Scholarships for Quality Education for Students with Disabilities is an initiative by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India. This scholarship program offers financial assistance to students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, or diploma programs.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, students must be pursuing their studies at the undergraduate, postgraduate, or diploma level in recognised institutions known for educational excellence. Additionally, they should have a disability of more than 40% and possess a valid certificate to validate their disability status. Furthermore, the annual family income of the students should not exceed INR 6 lakh from all income sources.

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, extends scholarships to students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. These scholarships are awarded based on the annual income of the students’ parents for the preceding financial year. The maximum permissible income limit is INR 8,00,000/-.

  • National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, extends scholarships to students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. These scholarships are granted based on the annual income of the students’ parents from all sources for the previous financial year. The highest permissible income limit is INR 6,00,000/-. There are no restrictions on the number of slots based on institutes, states, or streams.
