Admissions for the IIM Sambalpur MBA program in 2024 will be conducted through the Common Admission Process (CAP), in collaboration with eight other newly established IIMs. IIM Sambalpur, as a third-generation IIM, is mentored by IIM Indore.

IIM Sambalpur offers a comprehensive two-year, full-time, residential Post Graduate Program (PGP)/ MBA. The IIM Sambalpur course admissions process for MBA involves two phases. In the first phase, candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT exam performance, with a minimum cutoff of 92%. Those selected in the initial round proceed to a Personal Interview. The final shortlist is determined by a composite evaluation, where CAT scores hold a 30% weightage, Personal Appearance contributes 25%, and Profile factors account for 45% of the assessment criteria.

For Executive MBA admissions at IIM Sambalpur, candidates are required to have a valid CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMSAT score. The final selection for the program is contingent on performance in the interview, academic qualifications, and relevant work experience.

Candidates interested in applying for the PhD program at IIM Sambalpur must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Education

IIM Sambalpur Aptitude Test (IIMSAT)

IIM Sambalpur conducts the IIMSAT (IIM Sambalpur Aptitude Test) as a standardised test option for EMBA and Executive Ph.D. admission. IIMSAT comprises three sections, similar to the CAT entrance test. It is mandatory for candidates without valid CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE/JRF scores (as applicable) to be eligible for admission.

The test consists of a total of 120 questions, with each correct answer awarded 1 mark. The duration of the test is 120 minutes, equally divided among the three sections. Each section has a maximum score of 40 marks.
