ICFAI Business School (IBS) Admission process 2027

The IBSAT 2026 application is common for admission to the MBA/PGPM 2027–29 batch at all IBS campuses—IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Bengaluru, IBS Dehradun, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Hyderabad, IBS Jaipur, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai, and IBS Pune. Candidates can apply through IBSAT 2026 or use valid CAT, XAT, NMAT by GMAC, or GMAT scores for admission.

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Minimum 15 years of education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4).
• English should be the medium of instruction at the graduation level.
• Candidates not meeting the English-medium requirement must submit a valid TOEFL/NELT/IELTS score by May 31, 2027.
• Final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply, provided they complete all graduation requirements (including practicals, viva, and assignments) by May 31, 2027.
• Proof of graduation must be submitted by November 1, 2027. Admission remains provisional until eligibility is verified.

Step 2: Submit the Application

Candidates can apply using either of the following methods:

Online Application

• Visit the official IBS admissions portal.
• Complete the online application form with personal and academic details.
• Pay the application fee of ₹1,800 online.
• After successful payment, candidates receive a confirmation email and the IBS Bulletin is sent to their registered address.

Offline Application

• Purchase the IBS Bulletin and Application Form from any authorized IBS Marketing Office across India by paying ₹1,800 in cash.

Step 3: Appear for the Entrance Test

Candidates can qualify through any one of the following entrance exams:

• IBSAT 2026
• CAT
• XAT
• NMAT by GMAC
• GMAT

Applicants with valid CAT/XAT/NMAT/GMAT scores are exempt from appearing for IBSAT.

Step 4: Attend the Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in the IBS selection process, which consists of:

• Selection Briefing
• Micro Presentation (MP)
• Personal Interview (PI)

Selection Briefings help candidates understand the admission process and prepare for the selection rounds.

Step 5: Final Admission Decision

The final admission offer is based on:

• Academic performance
• Entrance exam score
• Performance in the Micro Presentation (MP) and Personal Interview (PI)

Selected candidates must complete document verification and fee payment to confirm their admission.

Who Can Apply? 

IBSAT 2026 welcomes candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds:  

Graduates & Final-Year Students: Candidates who have completed graduation or are currently in their final year in any discipline (Commerce, BBA, Science, Engineering, Arts, etc.).  

Working Professionals: Individuals with 2 to 3 years of work experience looking to fast-track their management careers.  

Qualified Professionals: CA-qualified candidates aiming to transition into corporate leadership roles.  

Step-by-Step Admission Process

The admission process for IBS campuses is structured into systematic stages to evaluate academic aptitude and leadership potential:  

Step 1: Online Application:

Register and submit the online application form at www.ibsat.org along with the Rs 1,800 application fee.  

Step 2: Entrance Examination:

Take the online IBSAT 2026 exam in December 2026. Alternatively, candidates can submit valid scores from national tests including CAT, XAT, NMAT by GMAC™, or GMAT™ (2024 onwards).  

Step 3: Shortlisting:

Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in IBSAT 2026 or accepted national entrance examinations.  

Step 4: Selection Process (February 2027):

Shortlisted applicants are invited to the IBS Hyderabad campus for the central selection round, which consists of two key components:  

Micro-Presentation: Evaluates communication skills, clarity of thought, and topic knowledge.  

Personal Interview (PI): Assesses professional attitude, domain understanding, and executive potential.  

Step 5: Campus Allotment:

Seat allotment across the nine campuses is decided based on graduation marks and selection process marks.   

Step 6: Admission Confirmation:

Candidates confirm their seat by paying the required admission fee to the respective IBS campus.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

To support merit and inclusivity, IBS offers 500 scholarships worth Rs 2 Lakh each (totaling Rs 10 Crore). Key eligibility categories include:  

• Merit / Test Toppers: Top performers in IBSAT 2026, CAT, XAT, GMAT™, or NMAT by GMAC™.  
• Wards of IBS Alumni: Children of former IBS graduates.  
• Wards of Defense Personnel: Children of serving or retired personnel from the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Paramilitary Forces.  
• Physically Challenged Applicants: Differently-abled candidates meeting prescribed criteria.
