Engineering College Admissions Procedure

The College of Engineering in Pune is an independent institution that is overseen by the Maharashtra government. It was founded in 1854, making it, along with IIT Roorkee, one of the oldest engineering schools in Asia. CoEP is regularly ranked among the top 25 engineering schools in India and is compared favourably to Tier I institutions like the IIT and NIT.

In addition to 4 Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Management, Engineering, and Technology, CoEP provides 9 undergraduate, 24 graduate, and doctoral degrees.

For applicants to the B.Tech programme who enrol in the first year of the programme at CoEP, admissions are centralised. The Maharashtra Entrance Test (MHT-CET), whose results are required, is used to determine admissions.

While candidates for the M.Tech degree must also have GATE scores and a Bachelor’s in engineering or technology to be considered for admission. A candidate can select one of about 24 specializations while pursuing an M.Tech at CoEP.

To be eligible for admission, applicants who wish to enroll in one of CoEP’s 3 Post-Graduate Diploma programs must pass both interview rounds.

For students with a diploma, there is a provision for lateral entry entrance to the second year of all programs on the basis of merit.

MH-CET Application Procedures

Candidates can take the following steps to apply for the MH-CET:

  • Visit www.mahacet.org and look for the link to MH-CET on the left.
  • For fresh signup, click.
  • After obtaining an OTP on the registered cellphone number, set up your email address and password.
  • To generate the application form, complete the necessary fields and then submit them.
  • You will be taken to a page with acknowledgments; check the box to start filling out your application.
  • Reread the application after you’ve filled it out with accurate information, and then submit it by uploading your photo and the required payment.
  • On your registered email address, you will receive a confirmation.
  • Keep a copy of the application and the fee receipt on file for your records.

Engineering College of Pune, M.Tech Eligibility

  • A minimum 60 percent grade point average (CGPA) or 6.5 on a scale of 10 are required for a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology in a relevant field (CGPA of 6.00 or equivalent for SC/ST).

Criteria for CoEP PG DERP Eligibility

Aspirants must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for admissions:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in engineering, communication, or management is required to apply.
  • To be qualified for admission, it is advised to have no more than five years of job experience.
  • Students who will be taking the senior graduation exam are also eligible to apply.

PGD-AM CoEP eligibility requirements

Students must be mechanical, production, industrial, automotive, or metallurgical engineering graduates. Additionally, those taking their senior year examinations may apply for the course. These students have until the beginning of the counseling or course to submit their degree or provisional.
