Scholarships

Kanpur University Scholarship

The scholarship is a type of award that is given in the form of financial assistant. It can be given in cash or transfer to one’s bank account or as a part of a fee waiver. In order to help meritorious students with financial difficulty, various types of scholarships are given.

Some of the scholarships are given on a merit basis, some of them are given entirely based on the financial need. There are also some special types of scholarships are given to some reserved category students such as Scheduled Cast, Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Caste. 

Kanpur University believes that financial hindrance should not come in the path of the educational growth of students. So based on the marks obtained by the students in the qualifying examination or yearly examination and also based on the students’ family annual income, scholarships are provided.

Once the Executive Council of Kanpur University approves the list of the qualifying students for the scholarship, the amount is transferred to the students’ bank account. This scholarships are only valid for the first and second year and also for diploma courses. Motivating the students is the main motto of giving this scholarship. 

Some of the scholarships are:

Kanpur University B.A B.SC Scholarship: This scholarship is given to the students who are studying with any of the specializations of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science courses. The students’ family income should be within two lakhs per annum.

After successfully completing the first year, the students will get this scholarship. The scholarship amount varies depending on the performance of the students in the first year examination and the amount can be Rs 3,000, Rs 6,000 to 40,000 per month/year.

Kanpur University B.COM B.ED Scholarship: To avail this scholarship the students need to submit a written document from Tehsil Department, Secretary of the district stating that their annual family income is below two lakhs. The students should belong to the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Education courses. 

Apart from these two scholarships, the students also can go for several types of scholarships given by state and central government and other private organisations.
