About College

BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) was established in 1946, by Sir B. M. Sreenivasaiah. BMSCE College was the first private engineering college to commence in India. BMS Engineering College Bangalore began teaching with three undergraduate engineering courses. Later on, Melton Foundation USA first adopted this institute in India. 

There are 39 courses offered in BMS College of Engineering Bengaluru, Karnataka on different academic levels. UG and PG courses include B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch, M.Arch, PhD etc. programs, which are offered in various specializations like Medical Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering etc. 

BMS College of Engineering Bangalore has been ranked 67th by National Institutional Ranking Framework. BMS College of Engineering ranking was 18th by India Today in 2017. In 2016, Outlook India has ranked the institute 45th among other engineering colleges in India.

BMSCE is also recognised by AICTE and accredited by NBA. The Times of India has given BMS College of Engineering Bangalore 6th rank among the top 100 private engineering colleges in India. NAAC has given ‘A++’ grade to the institute.

The institute has 15 BMSCE faculty members who work diligently under the guidance of Dr Mallikharjuna Babu K, the principal of the institute. BMSCE Bangalore Courses offered and Fee structure

BMSCE offers many engineering courses on undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. These part-time and full-time courses include B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch, M.Arch and PhD.

At the UG level, B.Tech program includes specializations like Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering etc. BMSCE M.Tech courses are offered in disciplines like Electronics, Bio-Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Signal Processing and Instrumentation, Machine Design, VLSI and Embedded Systems etc.

On the doctorate level, PhD programs include specializations in Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management etc.

All BMS College of Engineering courses except few B.E. courses are offered in full-time options with a duration of two to four years. The BMS College of Engineering fee structure is described on its official website. B.E. part-time and full-time course fee is between Rs. 76,360 and Rs. 2.38 lakhs. BMSCE M.Tech fee is between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 1.31 lakhs. 

BMSCE Bangalore Course Highlights

  • On UG level, the institute offers full-time four-year B.Tech/B.E. course and three-year lateral entry course.        
  • On PG level, BMSCE offers full-time two-year engineering courses, i.e. M.Tech.
  • On the doctorate level, the institute offers full-time two to five-year engineering courses for the PhD aspirants.

BMSCE Bangalore Admission Process

The applicants are admitted to engineering courses on different levels on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying exams. There are some qualifying exams that are required to be passed by the candidates like JEE, GATE, Karnataka PGCET etc.

Candidates willing to take admission in BE are required to score certain marks in COMEDK UGET or KCET exam. These two qualifying exams are conducted by the Karnataka Government. Ccandidates want to take B.Tech admission require certain marks in Joint Entrance Exam whereas M.Tech candidates require passing scores in Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering.

JEE Main is followed by an interview and counselling round conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) at the UG level admission. The selection of the candidates in a particular course is based on the qualifying exam score and the interview round score.

  • For BMS College of Engineering admission in full-time B.Tech/B.E. course, JEE Mains or KCET score is considered.
  • For BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore admission in full-time M. Tech course, GATE or UGCET score is considered.

BMSCE Bangalore Placements

Placements are a serious affair for BMS Engineering College students. The BMS College of Engineering placements cell officer of the institute Dr Pradeepa S ensures students’ placement in the right place.

Students are given compulsory training for four days where their soft skills are focused. Aptitude test, mock tests, mock interviews, CV writing skills, Personality development skills etc. are exercised in the training session to prepare students for the final interview round.

BMSCE Bangalore Result and Cut-off

BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore announces a cut-off list every year for students to maintain its decent BMSCE results. Candidates have to cross the cut-off mark presented in the list for admission in a particular course. This list is revealed after the qualifying exam results are out for the year.

The cut-off list for each qualifying exam includes KCET cut-off list, COMEDK cut-off list, JEE Mains cut-off list, GATE cut-off list etc. Candidates, who want to pursue B.Tech in BMSCE, have to cross the JEE Mains cut-off score while M.Tech candidates are required to cross GATE cut-off score. PhD candidates have to cross the qualifying exam cut-off score, conducted by the institute solely.
