DSCE Bangalore was established in 1979 and named after the founder of the institute Shri. R. Dayananda Sagar. The institute was granted autonomy in 2015. The Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering - [DSCE], Bangalore was run under a trust called Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust.
There are a total of 53 courses offered in the institute. Out of these, 30 engineering courses are offered on different academic levels such as undergraduate and postgraduate. These courses are offered in subjects like Mechanical Engineering, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, Automobile Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Highway Technology etc.
In NIT rankings, DSCE is ranked 11th in India among other top engineering colleges. National Institutional Ranking Framework has placed the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE)on 127th position in India.
DSCE is placed on 7th position among other top engineering colleges of Bangalore. The institute is accredited by NAAC and approved by AICTE.
Under the guidance of the chairman of the institute, Dr D Hemachandra Sagar, the DSCE faculty members successfully run the institute.
