Amrita University provides a full-time B.Tech program with eight specialisations. Admission is granted based on a valid score in the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE), followed by counseling for selected candidates. To be eligible for B.Tech, candidates should have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects, with a minimum of 55% marks in each individual subject.

The AEEE is a 2 ½-hour paper comprising 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each correct answer carries a weight of three marks, while an incorrect response results in a deduction of one mark from the total score.

Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE) Application Process

AEEE will be conducted in two separate modes: Computer Based Test (CBT) and Pen & Paper Mode Test (P&P), allowing candidates to choose the mode that suits them best.

To fill out the application form, candidates can either apply online or obtain a printed OMR sheet from designated sale outlets. Here are the steps for filling out the application form:

Online Mode:

1. Visit the official website of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
2. Complete the application form and upload the required documents.
3. Make the application fee payment of INR 1000 using a Credit/Debit Card or through Net-Banking. Alternatively, you can pay the application fee with a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of “Amrita School of Engineering,” payable at Coimbatore.
4. Print the duly filled form and send it to the university address along with the DD.

Offline Mode (using OMR sheet):

1. Obtain the application form (OMR sheet) from designated sale outlets (Post Office, Federal Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank), the university admission counter, or through postal services. The application fee is INR 1000.
2. Fill out the application form and send it to the university via registered post.

Amrita University provides two specialisations for its BA program and four specialisations for Integrated M.Sc. programs. Admission to BA English Language and Literature and Integrated M.Sc. courses is primarily based on candidates’ qualifying examination scores, followed by a personal interview.

For BA in Mass Communication, candidates are selected through the CAP TEST (Communication Aptitude Test), conducted by the university. Subsequently, candidates undergo a Group Discussion and Personal Interview for shortlisting.

The minimum eligibility requirement for UG courses is a 10+2 qualification in the relevant stream from a recognised board.

Please note that candidates with an aggregate of over 70% in the qualifying examination are not required to take the CAP TEST. However, they must still participate in the interview process.

Amrita University provides PG-level M.Tech and MBA programs in various specialisations. To be eligible for M.Tech, candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech in the relevant field or an MCA/M.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Application or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks. For MBA, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks from a recognised university.

Selection for the M.Tech program is based on the candidate’s GATE score. Non-GATE qualified applicants will be admitted based on their academic records and performance in the personal interview. MBA candidates are chosen based on their scores in KMAT/CAT/MAT/XAT/GRE/GMAT/CMAT, followed by a GD/PI round.

Please note that the M.Tech application form can be completed online by paying a fee of INR 960 via Credit/Debit Card or Net-Banking.

Admission to Amrita University’s MA, M.Sc, MSW, and PGDJ programs at the postgraduate level is available in full-time mode. The minimum eligibility requirement for these PG courses is a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

For MA in Philosophy, the selection process involves an Interview round. Admission to MA in Communication and PGDJ is determined based on the CAP TEST, followed by a GD/PI.

For MA in English Literature, M.Sc., and MSW programs, candidates are selected based on merit in the qualifying examination, followed by an Interview.

At the research level, Amrita University provides both full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs. To be eligible for Ph.D. admission, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks.

For admission, eligible candidates will need to undergo a written test and a personal interview conducted by the university. In the case of part-time Ph.D. programs, candidates are selected based on a written test, an interview, and an evaluation of their previous academic records.

Note: Candidates who have successfully cleared the CSIR/UGC JRF or GATE exams are exempt from the written test and can proceed directly to the interview stage.
