The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results of Combined Defence Services Examination II which was successfully conducted in October 2016. 

A total of 265 candidates have qualified on the basis of CDS II exam held in October 2016, and SSB interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence for admission to the 143 course of Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala and Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training course i.e. No. 202/16F/PC course.

Of the total 265 candidates, 168 have qualified for IMA, 81 for INA, and 16 for AFA. There are some common candidates in the three lists for various courses, and UPSC also mentioned that one candidate’s result has been withheld.

The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government is 150 for IMA [including 19 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ certificates (Army Wing) holders], 45 for INA [including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders (Naval Wing)] and 32 for AFA.

The Commission had recommended 4118, 2488 and 588 as qualified in the written test for admission to IMA, INA, and AFA respectively. The number of candidates finally qualified are those after SSB test conducted by Army Head Quarters. The results of Medical examination have not been taken into account in preparing these lists.

However, marks of the candidates will be available on the website after completion of its complete process i.e. after declaration of final result of Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) for CDS II 2016.
