Union Public Service Commission has started the online registration process for the Civil Services 2016 exam. The basic details regarding this exam are as follows,

Maximum age limit (as on 01-08-2016): A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years.

         The upper age-limit prescribed above is relaxable to up to a maximum of five years for SC/ST candidates and up to a maximum of three years for OBC candidates.

Educational Qualification: candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in any stream from any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.

       Candidates who have appeared at an examination to fulfill the required educational qualification can appear to the Preliminary exam.

Number of attempts : Every candidate appearing at the examination who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six attempts at the examination. Provided that this restriction on the number of attempts will not apply in the case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates who are otherwise eligible.
