Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) carries out recruitment for several government posts in the state of Tamil Nadu. The vacancies are notified through official notifications and thereby conducts examine and interviews for the recruitment.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has announced a few vacancies for which interested candidates can apply online.

According to a recent notification by the TNPSC, there are various openings for the position of Civil Judge in Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service. A total of 176 candidates will be recruited for the same.

Candidates who are practicing advocates, publics prosecutors or fresh law graduates are eligible for this post. However, applications must be made fast, as the recruitment drive for Civil Judge will end today itself, that is 9th October 2019 (11:59 pm). If any candidate is yet to apply, they must do so at the earliest.

Date of Preliminary Examination 24th November 2019
Date of Main Examination 28th and 29th March 2020

If the candidates wish to apply, they must first download the official notification as the notification itself contains the form of application. Here are the steps to access the application form/ official notification –

  • STEP-1 : Visit the official website of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), which is tnpsc.gov.in
  • STEP-2 : Under the Apply Online Section, Click on ‘Notifications’. Then click on ‘How to Apply Online’
  • STEP-3 : Candidates will then be taken to an external link, apply.tnpscexams.in
  • STEP-4 : Again click on the Notifications option in this page.
  • STEP-5 : Find the notification no. 25/2019. It should read ‘CIVIL JUDGE IN TAMIL NADU STATE JUDICIAL SERVICES’
  • STEP-6 : Click on the link and download the notification.

The notification is a detailed one a contains each and every information about the application and recruitment process.

The recruitment process will follow two stages – a preliminary exam and the main exam. The preliminary exam will be conducted on 24th November 2019.

The marks scored by the candidates will help them to qualify for the main exam. The marks of the preliminary exam have no other purpose and will not be considered for final recruitment. The Main exam will be held on 28th and 29th March 2020.

The Main exam is a descriptive type exam and will be followed by a Viva-Voce test. Candidates will be recruited on the basis of their results in the Mains and Viva-Voce. The detailed syllabus for these exams can be found in the official notification.

There are nine centres of examination for the Preliminary tests which are as follows –

  • Chennai
  • Madurai
  • Coimbatore
  • Tiruchirapalli
  • Tirunelveli
  • Salem
  • Thanjavur
  • Vellore
  • Villupuram

However, candidates can appear for the Main exam and Viva-Voce test only from Chennai.

Candidates have been allotted time till 11th October 2019 to finish their fee payment. They will be required to pay a registration fee of Rs 150/- along with Rs 500/- as the examination fee. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are totally exempted from the payment of examination fees.
