Tata Institute of Social Science’s National Entrance Test (TISSNET) was conducted at various centres across the country today. TISSNET is the entrance exam for various post graduate courses offered at it’s three campuses- Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati.

The test is in an online form with no negative marking.
Candidates have to solve 100 questions in 100 minutes. The paper consisted of
current affairs, reasoning, data interpretation, verbal ability, reading
comprehension and elementary mathematics. This year maximum number of questions
were asked in the current affairs section. It is amply clear that TISS wants to
test the social awareness of candidates who apply. The difficulty level
of the paper varied. While comprehension was easy, the data interpretation and
reasoning were difficult. The exam was conducted properly with no major issues
reported anywhere except few glitches reported at Kurla in Mumbai.

The M.A. in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations is
the most sought after program as most of the students appearing had it as their
first preference. The popularity enjoyed by the program is also because it is equivalent
to an MBA.

This is the first stage of a two stage process. On the basis
of a cutoff, short listed candidates will be called for a Pre-Interview Test (PTI)
and Personal Interview (PI). The results of the online test are expected in the
third week of February.  ning
