National Institute of Technology, Rourkela – Cutoffs for 2015

The JEE 2015 Seat Allocation process for the NITs (National Institute of Technology) is finally over and the NITs are scheduled to begin their academic year in the month of August. So, let us now take a look at the cutoffs/closing ranks in 2015 for the different NITs. Candidates were finally selected to the NITs on the basis of their performance in the JEE Main 2015 and their performance in the Class 12 exam. This was also the first time that the NITs were a part of the Joint Seat Allocation Process that involved other reputed institutions like the IITs, ISM Dhanbad, IIITs and Other GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).

In this article, let us take a look at the cutoffs/closing ranks for the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.

Regional Engineering College (REC) Rourkela was established on 15 August 1961 and was renamed NIT Rourkela (NITRKL) in 2002.

The campus is spread over 1024 acres. The main building of the Institute is located centrally in the institute area and is surrounded by the departmental buildings. It houses all the classrooms, the library and the Administrative and Academic sections. All the departments, the lecture gallery, the workshops, the institute canteen and the audio-visual hall surround the main building. There are multiple courts near the hostels for playing lawn tennis, basketball and volleyball. There is also a swimming pool and a cricket stadium. At the undergraduate level (B. E. / B. Tech.), this college offers 580 seats in 25 different branches. Selections to these seats is done on the basis of a student’s All India Rank in the JEE Main 2015.
