The
JEE 2015 Seat Allocation process for the NITs (National Institute of
Technology) is finally over and the NITs are scheduled to begin their academic
year in the month of August. So, let us now take a look at the cutoffs/closing
ranks in 2015 for the different NITs. This series of articles will help you
understand the cutoffs/closing ranks for selection to each of the various
branches in the different NITs in 2015. This will also give you some idea about
the expected cutoffs/closing ranks for admission to the different NITs in 2016.

Candidates
were finally selected to the NITs on the basis of their performance in the JEE
Main 2015 and their performance in the Class XII exam. This was also the first
time that the NITs were a part of the Joint Seat Allocation Process that
involved other reputed institutions like the IITs, ISM Dhanbad, IIITs and other
GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).

The
National Institute of Technology Goa (also known as NIT Goa or NITG) was set
up, using Rs 250 crore provided by central government, in 2010. The first batch
of students was admitted in the year 2010-11. During its initial years, NIT Goa
was mentored by National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.

The
temporary campus is located in the Goa Engineering College (GEC) Campus
Farmagudi, Ponda approximately 29 km southeast of Panaji, capital of Goa. The
permanent campus is to come up in an area of 300 acres, spanning from Cuncolim
to Balli.

At
the undergraduate level (B. E. / B. Tech.), this college offers 90 seats in 3
different branchesSelections to these seats are done on the basis of a
student’s All India Rank in the JEE Main 2015. The list given below mentions
the opening and closing ranks of students across different categories that were
selected to the various courses at this NIT in 2015.
