The online choice filling process on the Joint Seat
Allocation Authority (JoSAA) portal ended at noon, today, June 29, 2016. Candidates are now waiting for the first round
list, which will be released at 10 a.m. on June 30 by
JoSAA.

Seats are
allocated on the basis of students’ Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains and
Advanced All India Rank (AIR) as well as their online choice
filling preferences. After a period of six days, JoSAA closed the online
registration process, and students were asked to lock their saved choices. If a
student fails to lock his/her choices, JoSAA will, by default, lock the last
selected preferences.

Prof KV
Krishna, Chairman, JEE Advanced Unit 2016,confirmed the development to
PaGaLGuY. He said, “We are
preparing the first list for round one of the seat allotment process and are
hopeful to release the same by 10 a.m. tomorrow on the official JoSAA portal.”

Students should note that the once JoSAA allocates them a seat,
they have to report at any of the designated reporting centres, within the
respective seat acceptance period to acknowledge the seat. But if a student
fails to do so, they will automatically be out of the subsequent rounds.
