The IIM Raipur Campus

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Raipur, which became operational in 2010, ended the summer placement process for its second Post Graduate Diploma in management batch. A total of 76 offers were made by 41 firms, of which offers made by 39 firms were accepted by the batch, comprising 48 students.

Students were also offered internship opportunities with NGOs and PSUs.

Function wise drill down:

Marketing and Sales With 40% of the batch opting for Sales and Marketing profiles, this sector was the most popular in the institute. Some of the major firms in the sector who came to the campus included PepsiCo, Tata Motors, Berger Paints, J Walter Thompson, BPCL, Vodafone, Rediff, Sanofi Aventis, and Edunirvana. They offered a variety of profiles including Market Research, Digital Marketing, B2B Marketing as well as traditional sales and marketing roles. Some of the niche profiles offered by the companies in this sector include New Product Launch, Pricing Strategy, Internet Marketing and E-Commerce.

Banking and Finance Banking and Finance was the next most popular choice for students with 23% of the batch opting for a variety of profiles in the sector. While Bajaj Capital offered Financial Planning and Treasury profiles, ICICI recruited for its treasury division. Other organizations that came to campus included Citi Bank, Securities and Exchange Bank (SEBI), NSE, Bank of Baroda, ONGC and Fino. They offered a variety of profiles including Financial Planning, Treasury Management, Corporate Banking and Equity Research. A few frims also offered financial consulting profiles.

Consulting and Strategy Companies such as Ernst & Young, KPMG, Actuate Business Consulting, Aegis Consulting and Sanofi Aventis offered various profiles in this domain. While E&Y; and KPMG offered Financial Consulting profiles, Aegis consulting offered CRM consulting roles. Some of the other profiles offered by the companies include Business Development in emerging European markets and New Product Launch. An International firm offered a niche role in Sustainability Consulting as well.

Operations, IT and General Management – Manufacturing and automobile companies such as JSPL and ONCG offered Operations and General management profiles to students. Some of the other companies in the function that came on campus include Hero Moto Corp, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Infodil Chemicals, Symphony Services, Globals Inc, NIIT and Triton Group.

Some of the NGO’s that came on campus include Worldvision and Oxfam. Another NGO that came on campus offered the profile of a market associate.
