Haryana Power Utilities (HPU) is a joint name given to the resulting Haryana Government owned corporations:

  1. Haryana Vidyut Prasasan Nigam Limited (HVPNL)
  2. Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL)
  3. Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL)
  4. Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL)

The selection of the candidate is completed only on the basis of the GATE Score and there is no further rounds of selection. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level entrance examination which is organized by IITs on rotational basis. It is a gateway to various PSUs for the recruitment of graduate engineers.

Cut off is the minimum marks required to qualify the competitive examination and is the key tool to enhance the motivation in the students to begin the preparation in the right direction. It is essential to achieve good score in the competitive examination. GATE cut off is derived from GATE scores for the admission to M. Tech and PhD programs. The cut off for GATE for Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) depend on many factors such as:

  1. Number of candidates who appeared for the examination.
  2. Number of Vacancies
  3. Level of difficulty of the paper

However, it should be noted that the GATE qualifying cut off is different from the admission cut off. The admission cut off is published by the institutes individually. Applicant should regularly check the official website of the Haryana Power Utilities Cut off. There are different parameters for deciding the cut off of the particular admission. Some of the parameters that affect the cut off are as follows:

  1. Applications received for admission
  2. Availability of seats
  3. Category of candidates – especially in public and semi-public institutes
  4. Reputation of the institute.

The GATE cut off only will not be considered for the admission to the course in particular institute. Candidate would need to check the admission cut off list from the official website. The GATE score card is issued only to the candidates who qualify the examination. The current year 2019 cut off will be available once the GATE results are declared. The qualifying cut off list will be displayed online on the official website.
