After taking charge as director for little over a year, Dr Sunil Rai has put in his papers at the Goa Institute of Management. Dr Rai who was earlier with management institutes like SP Jain Institute of Management and Research in Mumbai as a joint Director and NIIT University, Neemrana, Rajasthan is leaving for personal issues.

Speaking to PaGaLGuY.com, Dr Sunil Rai said that he has informed the chairman about his decision to leave. “I am not leaving abruptly. I discussed with the chairman who was sympathetic towards my reasons.”

Dr Rai is presently in Mumbai to attend to personal issues.

He added: “GIM is a great institute and it was a pleasure being associated with it. I wish it all the success but I have to leave for other issues that also need my attention. I will soon be going to go back to Goa and the institute and chalk out a plan to keep things going when I am not there,” Dr Rai added.

Presently, Mr PX D’Lima is holding fort at GIM. Mr D’Lima who has some 38 years of experience in the corporate sector has twice served as director of GIM before.

GIM has already begun its hunt for a new director.
