GATE 2020

As per the latest notification, the last date of registration for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) had been extended to 28th September 2019. The registration for GATE 2020 started on 3rd September 2019 and was supposed to close by 24th September 2019. Due to the extreme rush on the website, the servers crashed, and the registration date for GATE 2020 had to be extended by two days to 26th September 2019.

But on that day, a new notification was issued wherein students were informed that the registration process will now close on 28th September 2019. Now, that the registration process has been closed, candidates have been given an additional opportunity to register for GATE 2020.

Those candidates who were not able to complete their online registration for GATE 2020 by 28th September 2019, can now do so by paying a late fee of Rs. 500. Candidates can complete their registration till 1st October 2019 on paying the late fee and be eligible to appear for the GATE 2020, which will be conducted t over 190+ cities in India and 6 international cities.

As 1st October 2019 is the last date to complete the online registration for GATE 2020, candidates must complete the process as soon as possible as they will not be getting any other chance to complete it. Another important date to note is 15th November 2019, which is the last day to request a change in the examination city. No further requests will be accepted after this day.

GATE 2020: Results and Counselling

After the process for GATE 2020 exam is completed on 9th February 2020, the candidates will be waiting for the declaration of final result and the merit list. Candidates will be able to download their scorecard from the GOAPS website. The GATE scorecard is valid for a period of 3 years, and if the candidate loses the scorecard or does not download it, then a duplicate scorecard can be retrieved for Rs. 500.

After the results are declared, the counselling process will be initiated. While the counselling for NITs would be through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. / M.Plan CCMT (CCMT), the counselling for IISc Bangalore and IITs will be conducted by the respective institutes.

Presently, the tentative date for declaration of GATE 2020 result is 16th March 2020, and the scorecard will be available for download from 16th March to 15th May 2020.
