Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R), the organising institute of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 will refund multiple payments done during registration after October 10, 2016.

Sometimes due to server problems, online payments are unsuccessful and applicants end up paying the fees more than once. Also, if applicants are facing problem while making the payment, they should try doing it with mobile internet. GATE officials said, “Candidates should avoid using Wi-Fi to make the payment; rather they should do it from their mobile phones using either 3G or 4G internet speed, as it is more stable.”

The GATE office will, by itself, refund the money to applicants with multiple payments. Candidates will not be required to do anything.

GATE is an entrance exam to secure a post-graduate seat at IITs, and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Applicants need to pay a fee of Rs 1,500 to take this examination. Payment can be made either through online banking or challan.
