About four lakh medical and engineering aspirants from Maharashtra will take the State Common Entrance Test today.

The test is being conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Maharashtra, across 36 districts in the state.

MHT-CET is the gateway for admission to the four-year full-time engineering degree courses in the state.

The exam will be held in two slots. The first slot that will start at 10 a.m. will comprise Physics and Chemistry paper and the second one will start at 3 p.m. consisting of Mathematics.

The test is of 200 marks, where Physics and Chemistry hold 50 marks each and Mathematics is of 100 marks.

MHT-CET unit will display the online version of question paper booklets on www.dmer.org by May 16, 2016, and the official answer keys will be released on the same portal by May 18, 2016.
