Food Corporation of India (FCI) was set up under the Food Corporation Act 1964, to fulfil the following objectives of the Food Policy:
- Effective price support operations for safeguarding the interests of the farmers.
- Distribution of foodgrains throughout the country for a public distribution system.
- Maintaining a satisfactory level of operational & buffer stocks of foodgrains to ensure National Food Security
Since its inception, Food Corporation of India (FCI) has played a significant role in India success in transforming the crisis management oriented food security into a stable security system.
Food Corporation of India has issued notifications for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering, Assistant Grade-II (Hindi), Steno Grade-II, Typist (Hindi) and Assistant Grade-III (General/Accounts/Technical/Depot).
