JEE applicants should download their admit card at the
earliest even if the admit card has any spelling errors in the Candidate’s name.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Office has released a public notice on the JEE
Main website, asking applicants to download the admit cards even if the
corrections are pending.

The public notice on the JEE Main website states that if an
applicant’s name is misspelt in the JEE Main admit card then the candidate is
advised to enter their name as per the class 12 school board record.

PaGaLGuY spoke to JK Yadav, Deputy Secretary, JEE Office, to
confirm the development. He said, “Candidates are advised to upload their board
particulars and then download their JEE Main admit cards. Those candidates whose
names are incorrect in the admit card should submit a request to respective
board to correct the name in the School Board data.”

The notice also states that as soon the respective School Boards
corrects the data, mainly spelling errors, it will be updated in the JEE data. Yadav
added, “We have linked different School Boards at the backend of the JEE data.
So, as soon as they rectify the mistakes, we will make the changes in our data.
Applicants need not wait for the corrections right now, as it will take more
than a week.”

Applicants should note that the JEE office will not send any
admit cards by post. Applicants will have to download it from the JEE Mains
website. JEE is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education
(CBSE) every year and is the gateway to IITs, NITs, IIITs, government and
private engineering colleges in the country. For 2016, JEE Main offline
examination will be conducted on April 3, and online examination on April 9 and
