BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) is a National Standard Body of India established under BIS act 2016. It is established for the harmonious development of marking, standardization, and quality certification of goods and matters connected thereto.

BIS has its headquarters at New Delhi and 5 regional offices are at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Delhi.

The scientist B released the notification to fill the 109 vacancies in BIS Scientist B posts. The application form was released and the last date to submit the application was 2nd April 2018. And the exam was scheduled on 15th April 2018.

The candidates will have to appear for the online exam. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the online exam they have appeared. And the final selection will be done after the personal Interview.

The exam pattern for BIS Scientist B exam is as follows:

The duration of the BIS Scientist B exam is 2 hours and one-fourth of the mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. The candidate must score 50% in Technical knowledge section.

The candidates who qualify in the online exam will be called for the interview. The candidates are asked to bring the original documents while appearing for the interview.

The final appointment will be made on the basis of the personal interview and documentation process.

The documents required for verification are:

  • SSC (10th STD) certificate.
  • Certificate of proof of date of birth.
  • Consolidated mark sheet for all the semesters of the trade in which applied/certificate indicating marks/provisional national trade.
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Disability Certificate, in case of PWD candidate
  • Discharge certificate/serving certificate, in case of candidate applied against Ex-servicemen Quota.

The written exam and interview performance are used to shortlist the BIS Scientist B final merit list. The candidates are shortlisted on their performance and marks in the written exam. The BIS is the only authority to release the result of all the candidates. The candidates who have passed the written exam can move for the further selection process of interview based on the merit list.

BIS will declare the merit list within few days after completion of the written exam. Hence the candidates can check the result of BIS Scientist B through the official website. They can also check the scorecard which will be updated based on the candidate’s score in each and every section.

The final selection will be for candidates who qualify in the written exam and interview. The candidates can check the results through the following steps:

  • Enter the Hall ticket number, date of birth in given spaces.
  • Now the result of BIS Scientist B exam will be displayed on the screen
  • Now download the BIS Scientist B result.

The exam which was scheduled on 15th April 2018 was cancelled since it was a direction from the consumer affairs ministry adding that BIS was not flouting any rule. There was one lakh candidate who applied for the posts of 109 vacancies. The exam was cancelled two days before the online exam.

The candidates aspiring for the government job who had applied are unhappy with the exam cancelled. Admit cards were also issued and at the last minute before two days for the exam they cancelled it and it was not accepted by many candidates by seeing the notice of cancellation.
