“Tenacious Turtle”, a team from
BIMTECH recently won “ADWORDS BUSINESS SEMI-FINALIST” award by Google. The team
proved its excellence by establishing its position among the top 10 teams from
India, top 15 teams in Asia-Pacific Region and top 50 teams around the globe.
It was formed by a bunch of 6 second year students of PGDM-International
Business program (Batch 2014-16) with mentoring support from Dr. A.V. Shukla,
Professor of Marketing and Chairperson-Doctoral Programmes at BIMTECH. The team
was led by Anurag Krishnam along with Arijit Mukherjee, Abhinav Singh Rawat,
Prakhar Verma, Pooja Chauhan and Juhi Shukla.

Google Online Marketing Challenge
(GMOC) is a crucial platform for every budding manager to gain practical
exposure in the upcoming field of Digital Marketing. Over 18,000 students and
2000+ teams from 100 countries participated in GOMC 2015. The teams had to
choose any Profit/Non-Profit Organization and were given $250 to build an
Online Marketing Campaign for them using Google AdWords. They further had to
measure the performance of their campaign using Google Analytics. The campaign
was to be completed within 21 days. Participating students must be registered
under a verified lecturer, instructor or faculty member currently employed by
an accredited higher education institute.

For their campaign “Tenacious
Turtle” joined hands with a Delhi based social enterprise named PROTSAHAN India
Foundation. Protsahan is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that uses
design thinking and art innovation to transform lives of street and slum
children facing abuse and vulnerability with a focus on empowering adolescent
young girls to break the extreme cycle of poverty.

The awards were given for Global
Winners, Regional Winners, Finalists and Semi-Finalists. These awards are
decided in 4 regions; ASIA-PACIFIC, AMERICA, EUROPE and MIDDLE EAST &
AFRICA. Out of each of these 4 regions 15 Semi-Finalists and 5 Finalists were
decided.
