The grand occasion of 30 years of excellence of Birla Institute of Management and Technology began extravagantly on 30th September 2017.

The week long celebration of BIMTECH 30th Foundation Day named Sabrang Utsav with a popular play “Jis Lahore Nahi Dekhya” directed by Shri Arvind Gaur from Asmita Theatre Group, one of the leading Hindi theatre groups in the country. The play, Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya brought into the frame times which stored a story of a mother who wouldn’t leave her house, even when the entire city washed out. 

The second day of the grand celebration week witnessed another popular play from the Asmita Theatre Group directed by Shri Arvind Gaur. The DramaMoteRam ka Satyagrah” – a comic satire on governance, especially bureaucracy is an adaptation of Munshi Premchand’s short story. Through protagonist Moteram, a commentary on bureaucratic system has been presented which is sure to leave the audience spellbound.

The grand festival also witnessed Shri Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder CEO at Naukri.comthe chief guest for 30th Foundation Day Lecture. Mr. Sanjeev Bikchandani guided the students that how in the initial years of their career they must look for meaning in their job rather than money and how they must never become a prisoners of their visiting cards.

Another highlight of the Foundation week at BIMTECH was Ms. Madhavi Mudgal– well known for her Odissi dance style and has won several awards, including the President of India’s award of Padma Shri(1990). The audience was spellbound by the beautiful performance and appreciated the same with a thundering applause.

Along with this, BIMTECH became the music with sounds of EkTal Band and Ms. Deotale (An internationally recognised Violin player). We at BIMTECH, had a wonderful time with story teller – Dastangoi Artist Ankit Chadha wherein he recreated the life and work of Amir Khusrau, the iconic figure in the cultural History of India.

With the conclusion of the weeklong celebrations, the whole BIMTECH family enthusiastically witnessed the events of the “Sabrang Utsav” which stood out to be one of the milestone celebration in 30 years of BIMTECH’s journey.
