About College

Osmania University was founded in the year 1918 and was named after Hyderabad’s Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. S. Ramachandram is the vice-chancellor of the university. Under-graduate courses began at the university in the year 1925.

In 1934, the present campus began functioning after the previous campus was left. The university was placed on 6th position in the list of Nation’s Premier Universities in Humanities in the year 2012.

Osmania University, Hyderabad campus includes College of Arts & Social Sciences, College of Law, College of Commerce & Business Management, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Technology and College of Physical Education.

The university offers various courses on different academic levels and various disciplines like M Pharm, LLB, M Phil etc.  Distance education is also available at the Osmania University for the professionals. India Today has ranked the university 10th among other universities in India. NIRF has ranked the university 23rd in India.

Osmania University world ranking is included in the rank list of 801-1000th. Asia University Rankings has placed this university between ranks of 251 and 300.

Departments of the university include Department of Arts, Department of Business Management, Department of Commerce, Department of Informatics, Department of Social Sciences etc. Currently, the university offers 25 undergraduate, 75 postgraduate and 27 doctorate programs.
