The passing marks, scheme of studies, mark distribution and syllabus of Class 5th, 6th ,7th and 8th has been released by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). Students and Teachers can check these PDF files from the official website of PSEB.

These documents are downloadable under the “Latest News” section. Class 5th documents is of 29 pages, Class 6th and 7th are of 111 pages and Class 8th document is of 92 pages long.

Subjects need to be compulsory appeared by the class 5th students are first language, second language, English, mathematics, environment education, health and physical education. Options for the first and second language are Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu. Students need to score minimum 33% in order to pass the exam. As there is no pass mark for CCE but students need to score 33% minimum marks in aggregate in both theory and CCE.

For class 8th there are 8 compulsory subjects, first language, second language, English, mathematics, science, social science, computer science, health and physical education and choices in optional subjects are Urdu elective, Sanskrit, agriculture, home science, cutting and tailoring, geo drawing and painting, music vocal, music instrumental, dance, needle work, practical art education, vocation. The passing marks for class 8th students are 33% in theory and practical separately. However, there is no pass mark in CCE but they need to score 33% in aggregate in all three, CCE, Theory and Practical.

The scheme of studies contains topics under each subject, marks allotted, marking scheme, and so on. Marking scheme clearly carry which question will be for how many marks. This will definitely help students appearing in the board exams to prepare strategically.
