Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry is one of the oldest medical institutes in India. JIPMER will conduct the entrance examination for the Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery (MD and MS). The entrance test for January academic session will go on from 9 am to 12 pm.

The examination will be held in 17 centres across India:

All candidates must report at 7 am. Anyone appearing later than 8.30 am will not be permitted to enter the campus. Along with the hall ticket, it is mandatory for one must carry a valid identity card and photo copy of the same. (AADHAR Card, Passport or Voter’s Card are some examples). 

The examination is an online comprises of 250 MCQs.  While each correct answer will be given four marks, a wrong answer will carry one negative mark and an unanswered question will be marked with zero marks.

Applicants will be merited based on percentile. Those belonging to SC, ST or OBC category need to have a minimum of 40th percentile, those who are Orthopaedic Physically Challenged require to have a minimum of 45th percentile and for the unreserved category, the minimum is the 50th percentile.
