Vinayaka Missions University Scholarships

Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed-to-be-University) offers various institutional scholarships, fee concessions, and financial aid to support deserving and meritorious students. These benefits are aimed at encouraging students to pursue higher education and research across disciplines. The number and amount of scholarships are subject to change based on university policies.

Categories of Scholarships & Fee Concessions

Scholarships/fee concessions are offered under the following categories:

Founder’s Scholarship Scheme

  • Top 1000 ranks in NEET (MBBS), Top 200 ranks in JEE (Advanced), Top 100 ranks in CAT, CLAT, and other entrance exams.

  • District and state-level toppers in Class 12 Board Exams from Tamil Nadu.

  • R.K. level toppers.

  • Orphan candidates.

Merit & Special Category Scholarships

  • Based on qualifying exam performance.

  • Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram “Academic Excellence Scholarship”.

  • Dr. A. S. Ganesan “In Pursuit of Excellence” Scholarship.

  • Dr. Arunachalam “Science Scholarship” for women in STEM.

  • Economically weaker sections.

  • First-generation graduates.

  • Wards of ex-servicemen.

  • Students with disabilities.

  • Sports achievers at various levels (national/international/state/district).

  • Children of VMRF staff members and alumni.

  • Students with single parents or no parents.

  • Research scholars and assistants.

  • SC/ST/Minority students.

  • Students supported by NGOs or other government agencies.

Scholarship Procedure

1. Selection Process

  • Eligible students must submit applications in the prescribed format.

  • Applications are accepted from the first year only.

  • Fresh applications are considered only at the time of admission.

  • Selection is based on academic merit and other eligibility conditions.

  • The Vice Chancellor, based on committee recommendations, makes the final decision.

2. Renewal for Second and Final Years

  • Renewal depends on:

    • Academic performance.

    • Minimum attendance of 75%.

    • Minimum 6.0 SGPA without backlogs.

  • Students not meeting the criteria will not be eligible for renewal.

  • Second year onward, no new scholarships will be granted.

  • Students maintaining above 9.0 SGPA may receive up to 20% additional scholarship.

3. Not Eligible for Scholarships

Students are ineligible if:

  • They are in the final year and applying for a new scholarship.

  • They face:

    • Study break

    • Change of institution

    • Disciplinary action or suspension

    • Failure to apply within deadlines
