About College

Earlier, VJTI full form was Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, founded in 1887. Earlier in 1960, it was the only institute under the University of Bombay to offer postgraduate courses and Engineering degrees.

VJTI, Mumbai was renamed to Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai in 1997. The course related to Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering was also added in 2010.

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) offers 59 engineering courses on undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. B. Tech and M. Tech courses are offered in subjects like Textile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering etc. Post Diploma and PhD courses are also available in the institute.

National Institutional Ranking Framework has placed VJTI Mumbai on 105th place. VJTI ranking by the Week is 29th among other engineering colleges.

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute is ranked 5th among best engineering colleges in India by India Today. Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute is ranked 3rd in the list of top 10 engineering colleges in Mumbai.

VJTI Mumbai Admission Process

Candidates willing to get admitted to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses require certain scores in the qualifying exams. VJTI admission to the B. Tech and M. Tech courses is on the basis of the marks scored in these exams. MHT-CET and GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering) or CSIR-NET scores are considered for admission in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Candidates are required to get certain JEE score for admission in B. Tech course and M. Tech candidates require certain GATE score. MAH-CET is followed by a counselling round and personal interview round conducted under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

VJTI Mumbai Result and Cut-off

The selection of the candidates into a particular course is decided by the VJTI cut off list. After every qualifying exam, the cut off list is announced. MHT-CET and GATE cut–off lists are important for the B. Tech and M. Tech candidates in VJTI college Mumbai.
