Nestled in the hills of Rourkela, the NIT Rourkela campus spans 647 acres and offers a vibrant, well-equipped environment for academic and extracurricular development. The campus is packed with modern facilities that enhance both student life and learning experiences.

Academic & Digital Infrastructure

• The institute features state-of-the-art seminar halls and smart classrooms, all equipped with WiFi and video conferencing capabilities.

• A centrally air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of over 1,000 supports major events, conferences, and cultural activities.

• The Central Library, named in honor of a former Odisha Chief Minister, is a key research hub housing over 61,800 books and 20,000 periodicals.

• An advanced campus network connects 5,000 nodes, providing every student and faculty member with seamless access to computing resources.

• The network utilizes RFID-based automation and LSmart integrated software for efficient operations.

• Internet connectivity includes 180 Mbps internet bandwidth and 850 Mbps intranet bandwidth for fast and reliable access.

Computing Facilities

• The Central Computer Centre operates 24/7 with uninterrupted power supply.

• It hosts IBM servers with 100TB storage, a 2 teraflops HPS system, and an L-2 Data Centre under development to support advanced computing and research.

Sports & Recreation

• The campus boasts world-class sports infrastructure, including:

  • Aquatic Sports Facility
