NIFT Bhopal – National Institute of Fashion Technology Overview

National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal was established in 2008 as one of the latest offerings to the list of NIFTs. The NIFT is located in the heart of Bhopal city. The institute was approved by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. Currently, it is operating from its transit campus, which is in MP Bhoj Open University, Kolar Road.

The NIFT Bhopal courses on different academic levels are undergraduate, postgraduate. Other than these two, like most NIFTs it also conducts Continuing Education programme since the year 2018. The UG level courses have specializations like Textile Design and one more and at UG, the current strength is 255. At PG level, only Master of Fashion Management is conducted with a current strength of 58. These courses are available in different time options.

NIFT Bhopal has been included in the list of top 20 fashion institute of India. In the NIFT India’s list, NIFT Bhopal ranking is in the 8th place. The institution is approved by the University Grants Commission.

NIFT Bhopal Courses offered and Fee Structure

NIFT Bhopal serves the best when it comes to education. Only selected courses are added in the NIFT courses curriculum. Textile Design and Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories are the disciplines of Bachelor of Design (BDes) course while on PG level, MFM (Master of Fashion Management) is the only course available in the institute.  Fashion Design & Clothing Technology (FDCT) is a course included in the Continuing Education program.

 NIFT Bhopal Admission Process

NIFT admission process is completed in some steps. These steps include a qualifying exam in which candidates have to get a specific percentile. The next step involves counselling round. Group discussion and personal interview rounds are included in the final step of the process. The application procedure for part-time and full-time PhD course is slightly different.  Like every year, NIFT application form 2019 can be had from the official website of NIFT. Online NIFT Bhopal admission requires uploading of documents and fee payment to confirm the admission in a particular course. The offline mode requires filling up the application form. Candidates can also check the documents required at the time of admission. 

• For B.Des, candidates are required to pass 10+2 from a recognized board of the country. 
• Candidates having a passing grade from any National Open School are also eligible for the admission.
• Valid NIFT score is required for admission in MFM course.

NIFT Bhopal Result and Cut-off

NIFT Bhopal announces the cut-off list as soon as the results of the qualifying exams are out. NIFT entrance exam score decides which candidates are going to be added in the final selection list. Not just the NIFT entrance exam scores are considered, GD (group discussion) and PI (personal interview) round score are also taken into consideration before preparing the cut-off list. The base of the cut-off percentile depends on some factors like availability of seats for a course, number of appearing candidates and the exam’s difficulty level. B. Des and MFM candidates are required to cross the NIFT cut-off percentile.

NIFT Bhopal’s Wi-Fi enabled campus has everything a student can desire for in the campus. As mentioned before NIFT Bhopal address is now MP Bhoj Open University Campus, Kolar Road. It is the transit campus of the institute, from where it’s currently conducting classes. 

The provided hostel rooms are spacious and comfortable with beds, almirah, mattresses, study chair and table etc. The attached bathrooms have 24/7 hot and cold water facility. A medical facility is available for all students and doctor on call. Security is never compromised in the campus and therefore, security guards, warden and CCTV cameras are placed within the campus. Students cannot have a dull time as the campus has much for recreational activities. Indoor games area, TV and sports ground etc. facilities let students have a good leisure time.
