Indian Statistical Institute established in the year 1931 is headquartered in Kolkatta. It is recognised by Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860), West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 and Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) of the Government of India.
Indian Statistical Institutes imparts training and courses in research and training, data collection, analysis and reviews in various areas such as economics, operations management, or statistics. It has the competence to provide coaching and consultation operating on six-sigma projects that are of eminent significance to the economy and various industries.
