IIM Sirmaur Scholarships

IIM Sirmaur offers a range of scholarships categorised into two main types:

Scholarships Type 1:

  1. Need-Based Scholarships:

    • These scholarships are awarded to meritorious students based on financial need.
    • Eligibility is determined through an assessment of factors like academic background, family income, student loans, prior earnings, and more.
  2. Special Scholarships for Women:

    • Reserved scholarships aimed at encouraging women to pursue careers in the corporate sector.
    • Open to women pursuing courses related to the corporate world or workforce.
  3. Financial Assistance for Toppers / Top Performers:

    • Scholarships available to students who achieve top positions in their first-year courses.
    • Offered by the institute and other authorities based on overall academic excellence.
  4. Financial Support for Reserved Categories:

    • Scholarships designated for reserved categories such as SC/STs, following the Government of India’s guidelines.

Scholarships Type 2:

  1. Financial Support for PhD Students:

    • PhD students do not have to pay tuition fees.
    • They receive a stipend of INR 30,000 for 5 years to cover living expenses.
    • Stipends are awarded based on overall performance and progress during the course.
    • Students must maintain 100% attendance, actively engage in coursework, and provide teaching and research assistance.
  2. Start-Up Grants:

    • Students with start-up ideas in their 1st year receive INR 60,000 to cover expenses like hardware and software.
  3. Contingency Grant:

    • Students receive an annual contingency grant of INR 25,000 for 2-5 years to cover expenses for hardware and software.
  4. Post-Proposal Stipend Grant:

    • After proposal approval, students receive a stipend of INR 30,000 per month, with an annual increment of Rs. 2,000.
  5. House Rent Allowance (HRA):

    • Off-campus students receive an HRA of INR 5,000 per month to cover housing costs.
  6. National Conference Grants:

    • Students receive grants of up to INR 20,000 per year for attending national conferences (as per actuals and applicable guidelines).
  7. International Conference Grants:

    • Deserving students receive international conference grants worth INR 2,00,000 over 5 years (as per actuals and applicable guidelines).
