Film and Television Institute of India were established in the year 1960 and located in Pune. It is a self-governing body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India and a part of CILECT (International Liaison Centre of Schools of Cinema and Television). It provides Diploma and Certificate courses in subjects like Direction & Screenplay Writing, Cinematography, Radio and Sound Design, Editing, Acting, Direction and Production Design, Feature Film Screenplay Writing, TV Direction, Electronic Cinematography, Video Editing and Sound Recording and TV Engineering.
