Department of Management, BITS Pilani Admission 2024

Founded in 1968, the Management division at BITS Pilani initially introduced the two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. Currently, the Department of Management offers a two-year MBA in Business Analytics program, including a six-month internship. Additionally, the department provides both full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs for interested candidates.

BITS Pilani MBA Business Analytics Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must possess a BTech/BE/BPharma/BArch/MCA/MSc/First Degree from BITS Pilani or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum aggregate score of 60% or equivalent CGPA is required in the Qualifying Degree.
  • Applicants should have studied mathematics/statistics in their 12th standard.
  • A minimum of 60% marks in mathematics/statistics is necessary in the 12th standard.

BITS Pilani MBA Business Analytics Selection Process

  • Selection for the MBA Business Analytics program at BITS Pilani is based on the Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) conducted by the institution.
  • Admission to the MBA Business Analytics program is determined by the candidate’s overall performance in the BAAT, Personal Interview, Score, Prior Work Experience, and Academic Profile.
  • Candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Interview based on their performance in the Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT).
  • The final selection is contingent on the candidate’s performance in the Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT), Personal Interview, and CAT/XAT/GMAT scores (if available), along with their prior work experience and academic history.

Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) Syllabus

The Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) for admission to the Two-year (on-campus) MBA in Business Analytics in the Academic Year 2021-22 will consist of two sections:

a) Management Aptitude Section b) Analytics Aptitude Section

Management Aptitude Section: This section evaluates management aptitude across three areas: Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. It spans a duration of 2 hours and comprises multiple-choice questions.

b) Analytics Aptitude Section:

The purpose of the analytics aptitude test is to assess candidates’ fundamental proficiency in computer usage and mathematics. The test duration may be one hour, and questions will be in multiple-choice format covering topics such as Matrices, Linear Algebra, Coordinate geometry in two dimensions, Basic Differential and Integral Calculus, Numerical Analysis, Probability and combination, Fundamental Programming Concepts, Basic Data Structures (arrays, lists, stacks, and queues), and Boolean Algebra.

Department of Management, BITS Pilani Ph.D Admission 2024

The Department of Management at BITS Pilani provides both Part-time and Full-Time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in various specialisations. Candidates who have attained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their MBA/ME/M.Pharm/M.Phil. from BITS or an equivalent institution are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program. Selection of candidates is based on their performance in the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by BITS Pilani.

  • Candidates holding an MSc/BE degree or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% are eligible for provisional admission.
  • For Ph.D. in Humanities and Languages, candidates with an M.Phil./MA degree and a minimum aggregate of 55% are considered eligible.
  • Working professionals with at least 1 year of experience can pursue the part-time Ph.D. program upon submission of a “No Objection Certificate.”
  • Preference is given to candidates who have cleared the CSIR-UGC-NET exam for admission to the Full-time Ph.D. program.
