Defense Advanced Technology Institute Admission to M.Tech in 2023

DIAT provides M.Tech programs in 12 departments with a total of 26 specialisations. Each program has a two-year duration. The course has a total of 471 seats available.

Admission is based on the GATE entrance exam, as well as the fulfillment of basic eligibility criteria, namely a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55 percent of marks or 5.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) from a recognised Institute/University.

Admission to the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology Ph.D. program in 2023

DIAT provides full-time admission to Ph.D. programs in Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology Management.

Admission to Ph.D. programs will be based on performance in a written entrance exam administered by the department in question, followed by a personal interview.

Application Procedure for the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology

Application Procedure for the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology:

  • Candidates must apply online at the official website.
  • The application fee is Rs.500/- for general and OBC candidates (250/- for SC/ST, women, and PWD candidates) per programme (specialisation) and must be paid online or by Demand Draft made payable to the Vice Chancellor, DIAT, Pune.
  • The application must be uploaded in accordance with the instructions in the admission notice/website.
  • A printout of the application acknowledgment generated by the system following application upload must be forwarded to the Deputy Registrar in a sealed envelope labeled with the name of the Program (Academics),
  • These documents must be received by DIAT by the deadline specified in the admission notice. Only upon receipt of the acknowledgment with DD will the application be processed.
  • Candidates who wish to apply to more than one program (specialisation) must do so separately.
