Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, was established in 1956. The Institution obtained autonomous status in 1987. It is affiliated to the


Anna University, Chennai.

CIT offers Under Graduate (UG) course in various disciplines of BE/B.Tech and Post Graduate (PG) course in ME/M.Tech and M.Sc . In addition to these the college also offers M.S. and Ph.D. Research programmes. All the disciplines under UG course are of 4 years’ duration and all the disciplines under PG course are of 2 years’ duration.

Application fees can be paid under two categories i.e. Govt. aided and Self-financing/Non-Govt. aided. The institute also offers part-time degree course in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (3.5 years of duration). CIT also offers M.E and M.Tech in 11 disciplines along with 4 part time disciplines.

courses Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (

TNEA

) is conducted by Anna University. The application form for which can be filled in both online and offline mode. Application fee can be paid online or via DD or cash.

  • Candidates who have passed class 12

    from Tamil Nadu are eligible for TNEA.
  • Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. However, children of central Government employees not domiciled in Tamil Nadu have to provide a valid certificate of their parents who have been serving continuously for more than five years at the time of submission of application.

  • To secure admission in

    M.E/M.Tech programmes, students have to qualify TANCET followed by central counselling conducted by Tamil Nadu state.
  • Admission to M.Sc is given to those students who have passed HSC or equivalent in Physics Chemistry and Math as the subject of study.
  • For MCA course a candidate should have passed a 3-year degree course in Computer Applications.

Coimbatore Institute of Technology B.E & B.Tech Admission 2018

For admissions into BE/ B.Tech course Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by Anna University.

Applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. The candidates will get the admission in the choice of their stream on the basis of the percentage obtained in class 12th.

Preference will be given to the candidates who have scored good marks in the HSC examination. The admission in various engineering colleges will be done through the
TNEA
Rank List only. The counseling for the same will be organized by
Anna University.

Candidates will be called for counseling according to the order of their merit. Candidates have to pay INR 5000/-(for General) and INR 1000/- (for other castes) as fees for Counseling. It can be paid cash or through DD.

Application forms for TNEA can be filled both offline and online. Online forms can be filled through the official website. Offline forms can be obtained from TNEA designated centers.

Application Process for BE/B.Tech (TNEA)

  • Applicants aspiring for admission to under graduate engineering degree course have to apply for

    TNEA.

    The application form can be filled through website of Anna University.

  • For Online Mode:

    The candidates have to pay INR 500/- (general candidates) and INR (reserved candidates).

  • For Offline Mode:

    The candidates have to pay INR 700/- (general category) and INR 450/- (scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/OBC).
  • After the forms are filled and application process is over. Candidates who’ve applied will be called for counseling as per their performance in the class 12

    /HSC examination. Admission will be done strictly on merit basis.

Coimbatore Institute of Technology PG Admission 2018

Admission to ME/M.tech course at the Institute is provided on the basis of the performance of the candidates in TANCET entrance examination conducted by Anna University. Final admission will be granted on the basis of TANCET.

TANCET exam is conducted offline. Now the counseling will be conducted in the last week of April/ first week of May. It will be conducted in offline mode and candidates will have to present at the counseling centers with relevant documents.

Fees for Counseling is INR 5300/- for General category candidates and for other castes the fees isI INR 1,150/-. Fees can be paid by DD or cash.

For MCA admissions, the candidates should have passed in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination in any of the following patterns.

(i) 10+2+3/4 years Pattern (or)

(ii) 10+3 years’ diploma + 3 years Pattern (or))

Application Process for PG courses

Application form for TANCET can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates have to first get registered and then fill the form using Login id and pass word obtained during registration. At last candidates have to pay application fees online. Application fees is INR 500/- for general category and INR  250/- for the rest.


Reservation Criteria:

69% of the total seats are reserved for (SC/ST//OBC/PWD). Rest 30-31% seats are free for open competition.

Scholarship and Financial Aid

Interested candidates can apply in the prescribed form to the Principal with in 30 days from the date of reopening of the institute or admission. Candidates should submit all the certificates necessary for the nature of scholarship. No students will be permitted to hold more than one scholarship at a time. Various Scholarships provided are:
