Chitkara University – [CU], Chandigarh Overview Admission Process

Chitkara University offers undergraduate programs including B.E. in six specialisations and B.Arch.

For admission to the B.E. program, candidates should have successfully completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects, attaining a minimum of 60% marks. Those with a three-year Diploma are also eligible for the B.E. Lateral Entry.

To secure admission in the B.Arch program, candidates must have finished their 10+2 education with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects and obtained a minimum of 50% marks.

Admission to the B.E. program relies on the scores obtained in the JEE Main examination, while admission to the B.Arch program considers the scores from either NATA or JEE Main (Paper 2).

Important Highlights:

• Applicants holding a three-year Diploma in a relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks have the opportunity to seek admission to the second year of the B.E. program through lateral entry.
• Candidates who possess a three-year Diploma in architecture with a minimum of 50% marks are also eligible to apply for the B.Arch program.

Chitkara University provides a range of undergraduate programs, including BCA, BBA, B.Com, BFA, B.Des, and B.A., with three specialisations available for the B.Des program. Additionally, the university offers an integrated BCA-MCA program.

Applicants who have successfully completed their 10+2 education with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply for the BCA, BBA, B.Com, and Integrated MCA courses. Candidates who have passed their 10+2 examinations are eligible for admission to the BFA, B.Des, and BA programs.

Admission to the BCA, BBA, B.Com, BFA, BA, and BCA-MCA programs will be based on the applicant’s performance in the 10+2 examination and a personal interview conducted by the University. For the B.Des Animation and Interior Design program, admission will be determined by UCEED scores, while admission to the B.Des Game Design and BFA programs will be based on CUDAT scores.

Important Details:

The University will administer the personal interview. To meet the minimum eligibility criteria, the marks obtained in the 10+2 final examination will not be rounded off. For instance, 59.99% will not be treated as equivalent to 60%.

In the event of two or more candidates securing identical marks in the 10+2 examination, the marks obtained in the subsequent lower examination will be considered. If a tie persists, preference will be given based on seniority in age during the shortlisting process.

Chitkara University provides undergraduate programs such as B.Sc., B.Physiotherapy, B.Optometry, B.Pharma, and Pharm.D. Additionally, the B.Sc. program offers specialisation in 8 fields.

Eligibility for these programs requires candidates to have successfully completed their 10+2 examination. Specifically, for B.Optometry, B.Physiotherapy, and B.Sc. Nursing, candidates must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects in the 10+2 examination.

Selection for admission to the B.Sc., B.Physiotherapy, B.Optometry, B.Pharma, and Pharm.D programs will be based on merit in the 10+2 examination and performance in the personal interview conducted by the University. For admission to B.Sc. Animation and Interior Design, consideration will be given based on CUDAT scores.

Chitkara University offers M.E. in four specialisations, M.Sc. in three specialisations, MBA in eleven specialisations, MCA, M.Pharma, M.Physiotherapy, M.Optometry, B.Ed., and M.A. courses at the PG level.

For all the PG programs, candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply.

Admission to the MBA course will be based on the scores in the CAT / XAT / NMAT / MAT / CMAT and the performance in the group discussion and personal interview.

Admission to the remaining PG courses will be determined by the scores obtained in the entrance test and the performance in the personal interview, both of which will be conducted by the University.

Key Points:

• Candidates applying for the M.E. in Construction Technology and Management must have successfully completed the GATE exam.
• Candidates with a CGPA of 6 out of 10 in their undergraduate course will also be considered eligible to apply for the M.E. program.
• Candidates who have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the industry or teaching, and are currently employed in either industry or teaching, are also eligible to apply for the M.E. courses in Computer Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• The University will conduct the entrance test and personal interviews.
• Candidates who have obtained a BPT qualification through correspondence or distance education are not eligible to apply for the M.Physiotherapy course.

Chitkara University provides a Ph.D. program at the doctoral level in various fields. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission is a master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.

Admission is determined through a university-based entrance test followed by an interview. Applicants with a valid CAT score for Business Management, GPAT for Pharmaceutical Sciences, CSIR NET, UGC NET, or equivalent qualifications are exempt from the university-based entrance exam and are only required to participate in the interview round.
