Students seeking admission to the undergraduate level B.Tech courses need to appear for the EAMCET examination, conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad or JNTUH each year.

Application for the EAMCET begins from February every year and the exam is conducted in April. Hence, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology cut off marks are declared after EAMCET results are out. 

The convener of EAMCET allots 70% of the seats based on merit in the exam and counselling of qualified candidates and the remaining 30% of the seats are earmarked for NRI or Management candidates.

Apart from that, 10% of seats are made available directly in the second year for diploma holders, who have cleared ECET exam and the selection is done on the basis of marks scored in the examination.

Aspiring candidates for postgraduate level M.Tech courses need to apply with either PGECET common entrance exam scores or GATE  entrance exam scores. The application process for PGECET begins from March and application process for GATE begins from September each year.

Among the total number of seats, 70% of the seats are allotted based on merit in the exam and counselling of qualified candidates, while the remaining 30% of the seats are reserved for management quota, admissions for which is done directly on merit basis.

As soon as, the GATE scores are released, the institute declares its selectional cut off marks for postgraduate level programs.
