An IIT-ian friend very tauntingly said to me last night, “Please, you can’t be a woman and be intelligent at the same time.” That made me wonder if that’s really true. What is the measure of being intelligent? Being in a national level management or engineering institute makes you intelligent. Okay, girls exist there too. Being in sports makes you intelligent, girls exist there too. Being top shots in multi-national companies, we see female CEOs there too. Politics, technical line, administration, teaching, non technical field, arts, science, maths, social, etc etc. women are everywhere. But does this provide the correct measure of intelligence?
I have seen guys who are dumb. They don’t understand half of the things going on around them. They are indecisive. If girls wear that confused look on their faces and guys don’t does this make them non-intelligent? Almost all guys talk as if they know everything and behave as if they are in blood relation with GOOGLE but in reality 99% of the facts they confidently put forward are wrong. Tell me if I am wrong, but don’t guys take wrong turns while searching for an address or take a wrong decision while deciding about something.
If girls do not understand dual meaning jokes they are dumb. If girls don’t take interest in Counter strike, FIFA, cricket and they don’t know who Shane Bond, Kurt Angle, Vettel are, they are dumb. I can bet on our politicians’ lives that many guys would go and google the names above. If girls know about the specifications of their laptop or cell phone guys have it hard on their digestive systems. (Oh! By the way, I know everything mentioned here..yuppie I am intelligent!)
Usually, in every class toppers are females. Usually, not necessarily. Marks and colleges don’t label you as intelligent. If these do then take in account the gender ratio and do all permutations and combinations and you will find that the intelligent girls’ ratio is not far behind from guys.
It has become a cult that every joke that is introduced in the ‘market’ is introduced with a turban lad as the main character then the main character is changed into a girl. It’s a proven fact that the turban people are intelligent and hardworking. But same is not acceptable by the people for girls.
If girls do not understand dual meaning jokes they are dumb. What about guys who do not understand anything at all?
Please somebody tell me why can’t I be intelligent. I am unable to understand the reason. Is that because I am a girl?
