Founded by the first non-European Nobel Laureate Rabindranath
Thākur(popularly known as Tagore) in 1921, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a
central university and an institution of national importance by an Act of
Parliament in 1951. The President of India is the Paridarsaka
(Visitor) of the University, the Governor of West Bengal is the Pradhana
(Rector), and the Prime Minister of India acts as the Acharya (Chancellor). The
President of India appoints the Upacharya (Vice-chancellor) of the University.
Visva Bharti has invited candidates for the JRF &
Research Assistant positions. The details of these vacancies are as follows :

Maximum age limit (as on 18-08-2015) : Candidate should not
be more than 25 years old for each of the above mentioned posts.
Essential qualification : For JRF post, candidate should
possess a masters degree n Physics with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade. Candidate should have qualified CSIR-UGC NET,
For research Assistant post, candidate should possess a
masters degree in Physics (specialization in electronics) or M.Sc. in
Electronics with at least 60% of marks or equivalent grade.
Desirable qualification : For JRF post, candidate should possess knowledge of Particle Physics, particle detectors; knowledge of
C/C++ programming language.
For Research Assistant post, candidate should possess Knowledge of digital and analog electronics, particularly circuit
design and simulation, knowledge of microprocessors, FPGA.
Method of selection : Selection of the candidate will be
done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the walk in interview.
