The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the final merit list (final result) for the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant 2016 exam. Around 189 candidates have cleared the UPSC CAPF 2016 exam, for which the written exam was conducted on June 26, 2016, followed by a physical test and a personal interview.

The UPSC CAPF is conducted in three phases starts with a Preliminary phase, where two papers are conducted. Paper I is objective in nature. Paper II is descriptive. Candidates who clear prelims, are called for a physical test. Only those candidates who clear the grueling physical test are called for the final personal interview by UPSC. The interviews are conducted at UPSC, Dholpur house, New Delhi.

CAPF is a nomenclature used for five central police forces namely Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Shashatra Seema Bal (SSB) and Border Security Force (BSF). CAPFs are under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
