IIT JEE aspirants are usually busy with their projects, school, classes and self-study. A candidate usually spends 13-14 hours (6-7 hours in school, 2-3 hours in coaching classes and 5-6 hours in revision) in studying, revising and practicing.

Every JEE aspirants go through this schedule and grind, however not all go on till the end. During the preparation period for the JEE aspirants, it is quite easy to crack mid-way. But to keep oneself going, taking short breaks during studies and spending some time with family and friends is refreshing. But what about the times when there is no one around for the pep talk? It’s music then which brings solace, when in the company of none.  Something chirpy, motivating, soothing (shouldn’t be confused with sad songs) and songs which boost your mood.

It’s always good to listen to songs which help to bring one in a positive frame of mind. Aaj kal Zindagi from the movie Wake up Sid is one such. For students who are English buffs, Wouldn’t It Be Nice by the Beach Boys, is a great track to listen to.

At times when there is no one to calm your frayed mind, soulful songs are the best remedy. Such songs bring peace and the much-needed break to one’s mind. They are not as comforting as a mother’s love, but they might just help you to calm down. Dil kyu ye mera shor kare from the movie Kites and Que Sera Sera by Sly and the Family Stone are two of the most soothing songs.

Motivation is something which the students need in oodles especially during the preparation time. Songs stimulate our grey cells and help kick off all those perplexing thoughts. Such songs can be very powerful; it can raise your hope even when everything seems lost. Having these on your list is really important when preparing for JEE. Kuch Kariye, Kuch Kariye from the movie Chak de India! And the song Rise and Shine by Raffi does the trick.
