18 percent of the students were offered jobs by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as IOCL, BPCL, GAIL and National Housing Bank and this is a substantial increase from the previous year’s placements. The students also accepted 12 Pre-Placement Offers this year.
Major companies which recruited from TISS came from diverse sectors. Tata Steel and Tata HRDP, RPG, Bharti and Essar recruited for their management cadres. The Banking, Finance, Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector was represented by Deutsche Bank, Axis Bank, Bharti Axa and Franklin Templeton while Ernst & Young, Hewitt, Dale Carnegie and DDI recruited students for HR Consulting.
Companies from the automobiles sector participated in recruitments and students secured offers from Hero Honda and Mahindra & Mahindra. The BPO sector was represented by Mphasis and Firstsource. Other companies which participated in the recruitments process were Asian Paints, Cadbury, Cairn Energy, Coca-Cola, Dr. Reddy’s, Astra Zeneca, Hindustan Coca-Cola Bottling Ltd., Hindustan Unilever, L&T;, Marico, Nestle, Nokia, Procter & Gamble and Wipro.
