The recently released answer key and OMR sheets of students who took the offline mode of JEE Mains on April 3, 2016, have pointed to a lot of errors in the four sets of question papers. Following this, aspirants are unable to calculate their score in the exam and are quite upset. PaGaLGuY spoke to JEE officials who said that JEE Main 2016 question papers were error free.

JK Yadav, Deputy Secretary, JEE Unit, said, “There was only one question with multiple answers, which we have indicated in the answer key. Apart from that, there are no mistakes in the question paper.”

According to the official offline answer key, only question number 8 in set E and H, and question number 9 in set F and G indicate multiple answers.

Yadav continued, “Aspirants who feel that their recorded response is correct, but is shown otherwise in the answer key can challenge it but on or before April 22.” Aspirants can log in using their application number on the JEE website to challenge recorded responses by paying a fee Rs 1,000. If the response is correct, JEE will refund the money.

He further added, “We will review the challenges only after April 22. If any of the challenged answers is found correct, we will revise the answer key, and give bonus mark to the candidates.”

There were many incorrect questions in JEE Mains 2015 as well, and candidates were awarded bonus marks for the wrong questions even if they had not attempted them.

JEE Mains 2016 results will be declared by April 27.
