Engineering College Hamirpur was, established in 1986 as a joint and
cooperative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. On
26 June 2002, REC Hamirpur was awarded the status of deemed-to-be university
and upgraded into an NIT. As per the admission policy of
Govt. of India, 50% of the students are from the state of Himachal Pradesh,
whereas the other 50% are from the other States. Institute provides hostel
accommodation to all the students. There are six hostels in this
institute. Five of them are for boys and one exclusively for girls.

At the undergraduate level (B. E. / B.
Tech.), this college offers 508 seats in 8 different branches. Selections to
