In the age of social-media it takes a small incident to
trigger a troll campaign. Something similar has been reported in the case of
Bihar following an incident where 12th class board toppers were
caught on camera giving wrong answers to simple questions posed to them. This
led to a troll campaign targeting Bihar and Biharis, for reinforcing the
stereotype of lawlessness prevalent in the state.

As a response, a counter campaign #MatBadnamKaroBiharKo has
started trending on social media like Twitter and Facebook. The
#MatBadnamKaroBiharKo campaign has also received support from prominent
citizens like Anand Kumar of Super30 fame. According to some sections of
the media, Kumar has shown support for the counter campaign. He reportedly
reminded people about Ishan Arunesh who secured AIR 33 in JEE Advanced 2016 and
is a native of Bihar, reiterating the fact that not all is wrong in his state,
Bihar.

This also comes close on the heels of the inspirational
story of brothers- Krishna and Basant from Samastipur, Bihar who fought against
all odds to secure AIR 38 in Physically challenged category and AIR 3675 in
Other Backward category, respectively.
